Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

Every year on 4th June is the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. The UN and the world acknowledges the pain and suffering by children throughout the world who are victims of physical, mental and emotional abuse and reaffirms the UN’s commitment to protect children’s rights.

The day came about on 19th August 1982 at an emergency special session when the UN was appalled at the number of innocent children suffering in international conflicts around the world.

Child abuse both in the home and in areas of conflict is now highlighted and the UN is working hard to raise awareness and help protect children around the world.

So today we celebrate the millions of individuals and organisations around the who work tirelessly to protect children. From organisations such as RSPCC, Children in Need, Social Services, social services, RSPCC, Teachers, and Doctors to nosey neighbours reporting abuse.

Children are our future

Children are our future and need to be nurtured rather than bullied into becoming our leaders of tomorrow. Respect and acceptance are our right and yet it is something nowadays that seems to need to be learned. If we respect and accept others they will respect and accept us and that includes children.
